Search does not work
The search bar in FireFox 4 is not working for the SC gamecocks theme. I enter a search term and hit enter, then nothing happens
-
I'm sorry this is happening.
Do you have any other extensions installed?
Does this happen with any search engine or a specific one?
Also, can you go to the Firefox button and select Web Developer->Error Console and see if there are any errors that mention "btpersonas"?
thanks -

Same problem here.
After fiddling with the Extensions, I've tracked this down to PI + TabmixPlus.
If only one of the 2 are installed, Search Bar works fine. But if both are installed, this Console error appears:
Error: searchbar is not defined
Source File: chrome://tabmixplus/content/utils.js
Line: 242
I tried changing to the default theme ("No Persona"), same problem.
Problem occurs with all search engines.
Hitting Enter or clicking on the magnifying glass => nothing happens. No error, nothing. (though clicking the magnifying glass produces the error above, hitting Enter does not) -

BTW, using the latest version of both:
PI v1.1.1
TMP v0.3.8.6
And Mozillas "Personas" extension doesn't cause any problems. Just thought this would help debugging. (I like PI better) -

So the problem is that both of us are overriding doSearch in the searchbar. I'll need to do some debugging to figure out how to workaround this.
Thank you so much for finding this. -

I found a fix for this. It will be in our next version.

I just downloaded the latest version of this to get the Ohio State theme and I have the same problem. Not only does the search not work, it won't let me set it back to Google. I use Tab Mix Plus also.

Can you do me a favor and go to about:support in your browser.
There's a button for copy to clipboard.
I need the information from that screen.
If you'd prefer not to paste it here, you can send it to me at mikek@brandthunder.com -

Actually, I just checked and my bad, it didn't install the latest version. But, I just had Firefox update add-ons and the problem went away. Why in the world would it give me an old version the first time I download it?

No problem.
The reason is because haven't refreshed all of our themes with the latest version of our theme engine.
I'm actually in the process of doing that right now.
Glad it works for you! -
