How do I get rid of "brand thunder refinements" on google searches?

We have added a way to turn them off and need to make sure it works in your Boom.

Try this:

Type about:config in your browser's url bar.

Click "I'll be careful, I promise"

Right click and select New->Boolean

For the preference name, type:

extensions.brandthunder.scRefinements

set it to false.

This should disable the refinements

I don't want websearch to be the default search and I have edited the setting in the firefox for default search engine to google. When I open a tab in the browser google is the search engine for tab 1 but any additional tabs open with Websearch. How do I change this?

Justin - on the toolbar level, you should see a gear button at the far right. If you click on that, go to Preferences. There, select the Search tab. Here is where you can customize all the Search settings, Hopefully this helps!

i dont know HOW it happened, but recently I had to re-install firefox and from then or shortly after i have a nerv-killing "WebSearch+" Enhancement.

It happens on undefineable occasions, like at searches, while browsing, when holding the mouse button over a detail picture at ebay etc.pp. :

a new page opens over the existing having at the top this statement

"Product Search by WebSeartch+".
============================

This product search page makes me crazy, it lists "visually similar items" which are not similar at all!
But even if they were : i do NOT WANT this page, it disturbs my browsing.

It is a real hassle and i have to click the "back to last page" Button (arrow to the left) to get back to my last page from where this unwanted action took off.
It disturbs me a lot.

Please help me :
How can i get rid of this lately appearing WebSearch+ pages ?

Martin - While in Firefox, go to Tools -> Add-ons in the menu. Look for our Add-on under Extensions (its called Default Theme Engine - Personas Interactive). Now, simply go into the add-on Preferences and you will see setting for just about everything , including Search. You can disable all of these to tailor your experience.
